Shipping policy

At Retrocollectix, we understand that luxury vintage items require extreme care during transit. All orders are dispatched from Athens, Greece, with full end-to-end tracking and insured signature-required delivery.

1. PROCESSING & HANDLING TIMES
• All orders are processed and packed within 1 to 3 business days (excluding weekends and Greek public holidays).
• Once dispatched, you will automatically receive a confirmation email containing your tracking number and direct link to monitor your shipment.

2. SHIPPING CARRIERS & METHODS
We utilize premium global courier networks (DHL Express / UPS Worldwide) as well as International Registered Airmail, depending on the destination and shipping speed selected at checkout:
• Express Courier (DHL / UPS): Fast delivery, fully tracked, signature required upon delivery.
• Registered Airmail: Tracked and signed via official postal services.

3. FORENSIC PROTECTIVE PACKAGING
Every item in our collection—especially fragile vintage glass fragrance bottles, delicate eyewear, horology, and lighters—is subjected to strict packaging standards:
• Multi-layer shock-absorption wrapping (heavy-duty bubble protection).
• Reinforced, sturdy outer boxes sealed to prevent impact damage or moisture ingress.

4. CUSTOMS, DUTIES & IMPORT TAXES
• International orders shipped outside the European Union may be subject to import duties, customs taxes, VAT, or brokerage charges levied by the destination country.
• ALL customs fees, duties, and import tariffs are the SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER. 
• Retrocollectix has no control over local customs authorities and cannot predict or alter these charges. We strictly comply with legal export standards and will not undervalue shipments or mark items as "gifts".

5. CARRIER DELAYS & TRANSIT ISSUES
• Estimated delivery times are provided by carriers and are not guaranteed. Retrocollectix is not liable for shipping delays caused by carrier disruptions, severe weather events, or local customs clearance processes.
• Risk of loss passes to the buyer once the package is accepted by the shipping carrier. However, every package is sent with registered tracking to ensure maximum accountability.

6. INCORRECT ADDRESSES & UNCLAIMED PACKAGES
• Buyers are responsible for providing an accurate and complete shipping address at checkout.
• If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, failed delivery attempts (recipient not home), or failure/refusal by the buyer to pay local customs duties:
  - Original shipping charges are strictly non-refundable.
  - The buyer must pay additional reshipping costs to have the item re-sent.

7. TRANSIT DAMAGES
If your package arrives visibly damaged or tampered with:
1. Photograph/video the damaged exterior box BEFORE opening.
2. Photograph/video the interior contents and damaged item immediately.
3. Contact us within 48 hours of carrier delivery at retrocollectix@gmail.com with your Order Number and full media evidence so we can file an official carrier investigation claim.
